In April 2005 my wife and I began looking into buying a new home. As we were not sure what we wanted in a new house we decided to look at houses that were advertised in the New Mexican each Sunday. We looked at hundreds of houses as we spent the next four months looking at houses and talking to real estate agents.

Many times in our search we were promised follow up by various agents on properties we were interested in seeing. Not a single agent contacted us.

We finally located a home we fell in love with and bought the house. As the agents we dealt
with in the purchase of the new home had very little impact upon the sale, we felt we needed to look for a real estate agent who showed more initiative when it came time to sell our house.

We interviewed four different agents, some with little experience and some with several years of experience. In our interview with Martin Wright, it was very apparent he had significant
experience and knowledge of the market and was quite knowledgeable of our area of Santa Fe. Martin was very helpful in guiding us in setting an acceptable price and setting up open houses. When my husband and I began working with Martin Wright, we thought we were in an impossible position. Only 6 months previously, we had purchased our first home. Then - very unexpectedly - my husband received an out-of-state job offer and we were forced to sell. We both feared the worst: that we would lose all the money we had saved for our first down-payment and not have a nest egg to start with once we moved. We initially planned to try and sell "By Owner" to avoid spending any additional money in Realtor fees.

During our first meeting with Martin, he listened attentively as we explained our situation. He helped us calculate the selling price we'd need to get for our home in order to leave the deal without losing our original down payment.
